Your Visit at Vinna Norris Family Dentistry

Comprehensive Care

At your initial visit you will meet Dr. Norris and her team. We are a small practice focused on relationship and view our patients as an extension of our dental family. For adults we typically allow 2 hours for the new patient appointment as we'd like to get to know you and your dental concerns.. Dr. Norris views her role as supportive of your total health and will take your vitals, including blood pressure, as well as review your medical history and medications, so please bring a current list to each visit.

Examinations include :

  • Oral cancer evaluation of the head, neck and mouth
  • Evaluation for dysfunction of the temporomandibular jaw joint
  • Periodontal evaluation (gum and bone tissue supporting the teeth)
  • Visual and radiographic examination of your teeth

Intraoral pictures are an integral part of documentation and also help by giving our patients a visual representation of their mouth, teeth and areas of interest. Throughout her exam process, Dr. Norris will inform you about what she is seeing and the significance of that information. You are encouraged to be an active participant by asking questions as our philosophy is to empower our patients with the knowledge needed to make informed choices regarding their dental treatment. When a patient's needs are fairly straightforward we also complete a dental cleaning at the initial appointment. Periodontal care with our hygienist may be deferred if the examination reveals complex concerns or significant periodontal disease requiring multiple appointments for care. If there are more extensive dental needs requiring additional time to review and discuss options for treatment we will arrange for a separate consultation appointment at a later date.

Payment Information

While we do not participate as a member dentist office for insurance plans with the exception of Delta Dental Premier, we are happy to coordinate your insurance benefits and submit claims on your behalf. If you participate in a PPO insurance program it is important to note that we are not an in-network provider. We encourage your anticipated portion of payment, including deductibles, to be paid at the time of service unless financial arrangements have been discussed in advance.

Cash, checks, debit cards, health savings accounts (HSA and FSA), VISA, Mastercard, and Discover cards are all forms of payment that we accept. In addition, we accept Care Credit health care financing on a limited basis.

Due to the increasing complexity and variety of dental insurance plans, it is not possible for our office to know the specifics for every plan in terms of coverage and limitations. We seek to help coordinate your benefits and will keep you informed of the cost of treatment and encourage you to be familiar with your plan specifics. It's crucial that we are notified of changes in coverage or benefits used at other offices to provide you with the most accurate estimate of benefits.
